Watershed: Stories from the Galilee and Life on the Buffalo Bayou
Join us for this sermon series that connects the stories of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee watershed to those of us living today in the watershed of the Buffalo Bayou.
Aug. 1 – “The Reunion”
First for Food Sunday
Aug. 1 is the day when you can bring donations of non-perishable food or toiletries for the Katy Christian Ministries Food Pantry. Please bring your donations to the collection bin in the Lobby. You also may make a donation by check or cash. Please make checks payable to Katy Christian Ministries and place them in the offering plate.
Celebrate U.M. ARMY
The Missions Committee invites everyone to celebrate U.M. ARMY 2010
Aug. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wesley Youth Center. We will watch videos and photos from both the Houston and Normangee camps, hear inspiring stories from the campers, and enjoy U.M. ARMY peach cobbler. We appreciate all that St. Peter’s does to make this mission happen and want to share with you what your support accomplished. From loaner tools to Band-Aids, from food donations to stock purchases, from hands-on help to prayers, U.M. ARMY wouldn’t happen without the love and support of St. Peter’s. We hope to see you there!
Alzheimer’s Support Group
We will meet Aug. 16 at 1:30 p.m. in S209. Caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients are invited to join us for a time of caring and sharing. For more information, contact Beverly Deerhake.
KCM Red Apple Program
Through this program, KCM provides new school supplies to needy students in Katy. You can help by picking an apple from the tree in the Lobby and writing a check to KCM for the amount on the apple. Keep the red apple as your tax receipt and place the green apple with your donation in the offering plate or send it to the church office. All apples are due to KCM by Aug. 16.
Can You Bake Cookies for Katy ISD Teachers?
To show the teachers in our community how much St. Peter’s appreciates all they do for the young people in Katy, St. Peter’s will deliver platters of fresh cookies to many of the schools in KISD. You can help by baking cookies and dropping them off on Sunday, Aug. 15, in the hospitality kitchen, located just down the hall from the Information Desk. We will arrange the cookies on platters and deliver them bright and early to teacher workrooms to celebrate their first day back at school.
KEYS End of Summer Roundup
Senior adults are invited to the KEYS End of Summer Roundup and Luncheon Aug. 19 at 11:30 a.m. in Lott Fellowship Hall. The luncheon will feature Pat Gavin and the Buckaroo Band. Cost is $17 per person. Checks should be made payable to Charlie Bratton and are due by Aug. 15. More information and sign-up sheets are at the KEYS bulletin board in the Lobby.
