St. Peter's Special Events
Guest and New Member Brunch
Please join us Feb. 28 at 9:30 a.m. in the Parlor for a Guest and New Member Brunch. This is the perfect opportunity to meet our Welcome Ministry Team and clergy and ask a few questions about the life of St. Peter’s. Tours of the church facilities will be held. We look forward to the opportunity to meet you and help you connect with our St. Peter’s family.
Chili Cook-Off and Auction Feb. 28 at Noon
Get ready for some great chili and auction items at the annual Youth Chili Cook-Off and Auction Feb. 28 at noon in The Wesley Youth Center. Proceeds from this event will benefit the high school seniors’ mission trip to Jamaica at spring break.
Blood Drive
Save a life, one donation at a time. Sign up Feb. 28 in the Lobby to donate blood at our next blood drive March 7. The drive will be in Asbury Hall West from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Contact Marsha Asplin for more information or to make an appointment. Continue your commitment if you’re already a blood donor. If you haven’t ever donated blood, March 7 is a great time to start.
Dinners for Eight
There’s still time to sign up for Dinners for Eight. This is a community-building event that will help you get connected with other St. Peter’s families. Forms are available at the Information Desk in the Lobby. The dinner gatherings will take place in March at a time and place selected by the host. KEYS Trip to Sengelmann Hall
The KEYS Senior Adults will travel by bus to Schulenburg March 6 to visit this restored 1890s Texas dance hall and restaurant. We will have dinner and enjoy listening and dancing to music. More information and a sign-up sheet are on the KEYS bulletin board in the Lobby. You also can call Tom Matkin for information.
Lenten Study
Join Kim Meyers and Billy and Jennifer Watson for the study “Bread in the Wilderness” Wednesdays through March 31 at 9:45 a.m. in E225. This study offers “bread” in the form of the teachings of Jesus to help us through those times in life when we feel we are living in the wilderness. Outback Dinner March 3
Tickets are on sale in the Lobby and Lott Fellowship Hall for the annual Outback Dinner on March 3. You may dine in or take out your dinner. The menu includes steak, chicken, Caesar salad, garlic mashed potatoes, bread and chocolate cake. Tickets are $12 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under for a corn dog dinner. The dinner benefits the Jamaica trip.
Mothers’ Share Group
Attention moms! Mothers’ Share Group is a group of moms who meet on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. in E221 for food, fellowship and fun. Childcare is provided. On March 4 we will have a special guest speaker join us from Katy Prairie Conservancy. For more information, please contact Melissa Gargani.
Youth Garage Sale
The annual Youth Garage Sale is March 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the east side parking lot at St. Peter’s. If you have items you wish to donate, please bring them to The Wesley Youth Center on March 5 starting at 9 a.m. If you need to have large items picked up, please contact Jason Trice or Sandra Roberson at (281) 492-8031. If you would like to help price items on Friday, please contact Jason. Proceeds benefit the Jamaica trip.
Win Scholarships to U.M. ARMY
Register early for U.M. ARMY and become eligible for a scholarship. If you turn in your completed paperwork and money by the following dates you will become eligible to win half of your registration fee: by March 7, we will award two winners; and by March 21, we will award one winner. CANTARE Houston in Concert at St. Peter’s
The choral group CANTARE Houston will present “Sing Me to Heaven: Music from this Side the Veil” March 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Kevin Riehle, St. Peter’s organist, is founder and director of the choir. The program also includes a special prelude concert featuring the Cinco Ranch High School Choir directed by Dorothy Wilson. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and are available online at www.cantarehouston.org or at the door.
KEYS Fall Trip to New England
Join us for a tour of New England Oct. 13-20 to see the fall colors. If you are interested in going, please contact Richard Bauman at (281) 492-8031 or rbauman@stpeterskaty.org by mid-March to secure your spot with a deposit.
United Methodist Women Circle
Agape Circle will tour the W. H. Stark House in Orange on March 17. This is a restored Victorian home featuring original furnishings and decorative arts. We will carpool from the east parking lot at 8 a.m. All women interested in going should contact Carol Matkin.
Donations Needed for Birthing Kits
The United Methodist Women are collecting receiving blankets (no larger than 30 inches square) and hotel-size soaps for birthing kits. You can place your donations in the pink box marked “Birthing Kit Items” located in the Lobby. These birthing kits are so important for those who live in countries with no sterile facilities in which to have their babies. Thank you for your help in giving our most vulnerable a better chance in life. For information, contact Sharon Gillette.

The Upper Room devotional booklets for March and April are now available on the table by the elevator.
Katy Christian Ministries Gala
